We wish you an enjoyable stay at your chosen Celina Ohio hotel. The famous and/or historic hotels of the world are major destinations in their own right. The Excelsior Hotel in Hong Kong near the famous noonday gun, the Sofitel Rio de Janeiro Copacabana, the Peace Hotel (formerly the renowned Cathay Hotel) in Shanghai, the Queen Mary in Long Beach, the Savoy Hotel in London, the Hotel Icon in Hong Kong and the Villa D'Este on Lake Como. are some of the world's most famous hotels.

Myths, Folklore, Legends, Ghosts, Monsters and Scary Stories in Ohio

The ghost of Mrs Squire in Squire's Castle near Cleveland; the spectre of William H Morgan in Glamorgan Castle, Alliance; the story of Indian fighter Bill Quick, who had ninety-nine human skulls displayed as trophies in his cabin near Kenton and, on his death bed, made his son Tom swear to add the hundredth, little knowing that the hundredth trophy in the cabin would be placed there by a Native American warrior and would be Tom's own skull (there certainly was a Tom Quick, notorious for killing Native Americans indiscriminately, and the legend probably grew from a desire to create justice in legend if not in reality); stories of Johnny Appleseed, a real nurseryman and missionary whose real name was John Chapman (he planted many apple nurseries in the Mohican area of Ohio); and the "melon heads" of Kirtland, similar to those of Connecticut and Michigan (I also suspect that the New York legend of swollen-headed Catskill gnomes owes its origin to melonheads), are among the true ghost stories, myths and legends of Ohio.

The phantom lioness, usually heard rather than seen, who follows visitors in Cincinnati Zoo; the frog-like dwarves of Loveland; the girl in denims and tennis shoes, who sits on her own gravestone, in Woodland Cemetery and Arboretum, Dayton; the entrance to Hell created by Satanists at Satan's Hollow in Blue Ash, Cincinnati; the Cry Baby Bridge in Norton, Akron, where at midnight the ghostly sight and sound of a mother throwing her baby into the river may be witnessed; and the hauntings of Franklin Castle (a private residence, so do not linger), Cleveland, including a crying child and unexplained music (in spite of its name and reputation as Ohio's most haunted house, it looks to me like a typical Victorian dwelling), are other legendary tales of ghosts and haunted places in Ohio.

State Forests, National Forests, National Parks, State Parks, Nature Reserves and Refuges in Ohio

Grand Lake St Marys State Park; Wayne National Forest, the only national forest in Ohio; Cedar Point National Wildlife Refuge; the caves and scenery of Hocking Hills State Park; Caesar Creek State Park; Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge; East Fork State Park; Magee Marsh Wildlife Refuge on Lake Erie, a favourite place to witness the annual warbler migration; and West Sister Island National Wildlife Refuge, are among the national or state parks, forests and refuges of Ohio.

The USA is one of the most developed and technologically advanced countries in the world, yet has preserved much of its wilderness and beautiful scenery. Be as familiar with famous places as you might like to be with famous people. Salt Lake City, Corpus Christi, St Louis, Juneau, Sacramento, Phoenix, Boston, Anchorage, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Fort Lauderdale, Skagway, San Diego, Detroit, Las Vegas, Indianapolis, Savannah, Atlanta, New Orleans, Albuquerque, Seattle, Washington DC, Kansas City, Santa Fe, Minneapolis, Lake Tahoe, Miami, New York, Sitka, Fairbanks, Chicago, Dallas, Atlantic City, Houston, Honolulu and San Francisco. If you have seen those cities, you have at least seen the most famous ones in the USA. Visiting all fifty states is something that even most Americans cannot manage but it is possible to visit those cities, as well as other iconic destinations such as The Everglades, the wild west town of Tombstone, Mount Rushmore, the plantations and bayous of the Mississippi Delta, the Grand Canyon, the Okefenokee Swamp, Hawaiian volcanoes such as Mauna Loa, Native American nations such as the Navajo and the Hopi, the Arctic wilderness of Alaska, Yellowstone National Park, Mount McKinley and fabulous wildlife in Denali National Park, rodeos, Bryce Canyon, Route 66, the California coastline, the Ozarks, the beach at Waikiki in Hawaii, Glacier Bay National Park, Marvellous scenery and sea life in Kenai Fjords National Park, the Disney resorts, the Appalachians, the Florida Keys, Niagara Falls, Yosemite National Park, Mount Rainier National Park and the Adirondacks. Casually mentioning places that you have visited can be as impressive as mentioning the names of celebrities that you have met. Good luck on your travels.
