We wish you an enjoyable stay at your chosen Euclid Ohio hotel. The famous and/or historic hotels of the world are major destinations in their own right. The Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund, the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Hong Kong, the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, the Goldeneye Hotel (once the home of James Bond author Ian Fleming) in Jamaica's Oracabessa Bay, Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cap d'Antibes, the Peace Hotel (formerly the renowned Cathay Hotel) in Shanghai and Hotel La Mamounia in Marrakesh (Marrakech). are some of the world's most famous hotels.

Attractions and Sights/Places to See in Ohio

The tomb of President McKinley in Canton; Cleveland Metroparks Zoo; the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland; Fountain Square in Cincinnati; Cedar Point amusement park; Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Garden in Columbus; the stately Stan Hywet Hall and Garden in Akron; Glamorgan Castle in Alliance (now part of a school but tours are sometimes arranged); Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden; Chateau Laroche in Loveland; Cleveland Museum of Art; and the art deco Cincinnati Museum Center, are among the attractions of Ohio.

Scary Stories, Legends, Myths, Ghosts, Monsters and Folklore in Ohio

The girl in denims and tennis shoes, who sits on her own gravestone, in Woodland Cemetery and Arboretum, Dayton; the "melon heads" of Kirtland, similar to those of Connecticut and Michigan (I also suspect that the New York legend of swollen-headed Catskill gnomes owes its origin to melonheads); the frog-like dwarves of Loveland; the hauntings of Franklin Castle (a private residence, so do not linger), Cleveland, including a crying child and unexplained music (in spite of its name and reputation as Ohio's most haunted house, it looks to me like a typical Victorian dwelling); and the entrance to Hell created by Satanists at Satan's Hollow in Blue Ash, Cincinnati, are among the true ghost stories, myths and legends of Ohio.

Stories of Johnny Appleseed, a real nurseryman and missionary whose real name was John Chapman (he planted many apple nurseries in the Mohican area of Ohio); the Cry Baby Bridge in Norton, Akron, where at midnight the ghostly sight and sound of a mother throwing her baby into the river may be witnessed; the phantom lioness, usually heard rather than seen, who follows visitors in Cincinnati Zoo; the story of Indian fighter Bill Quick, who had ninety-nine human skulls displayed as trophies in his cabin near Kenton and, on his death bed, made his son Tom swear to add the hundredth, little knowing that the hundredth trophy in the cabin would be placed there by a Native American warrior and would be Tom's own skull (there certainly was a Tom Quick, notorious for killing Native Americans indiscriminately, and the legend probably grew from a desire to create justice in legend if not in reality); the spectre of William H Morgan in Glamorgan Castle, Alliance; and the ghost of Mrs Squire in Squire's Castle near Cleveland, are other legendary tales of ghosts and haunted places in Ohio.

America welcomes careful drivers; also pilots and passengers, for that matter. How well can you know the USA? Try visiting Sitka, Atlantic City, Chicago, Sacramento, San Francisco, Dallas, Kansas City, Lake Tahoe, Juneau, Seattle, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Honolulu, Albuquerque, New Orleans, Anchorage, Salt Lake City, Fairbanks, New York, Indianapolis, Boston, Skagway, Philadelphia, Savannah, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Miami, Detroit, Fort Lauderdale, St Louis, Corpus Christi, Houston, San Diego, Las Vegas, Santa Fe and Phoenix.
